Summer fun Day 29!! FLUBBER!!!

Hello there!! :)

Today is day 29! My kids have been asking me lately "what day are we on now?!", they love hearing what day we are on and then, like today, run around saying "we've done 29 fun things this summer!!!".....it really makes me feel good. I am glad they are having fun, and we have something to look forward to each day.

Today we made FLUBBER! My kids (and I) have REALLY been looking forward to this one, because we knew it would be a lot of fun.

This was SO easy to make! All you need is 1/2 cup of warm water, 1 tsp of Borax (found in the laundry soap aisle), 2 4oz bottles of Elmers school glue, and food coloring.

First start out by having your kiddos pour both bottles of glue, into the bowl.

Then add lots of food coloring. We decided on GREEN!

Set that bowl aside, and now pour 1/2 cup of warm water into a smaller bowl, or a cup. Add 1 tsp of the borax, and mix until it is completely dissolved.

Add the water/borax to the glue mixture, and stir it all up. It will quickly start to form into a doughy substance. Use your hands to mix it up the rest of the way. Squish it around for a while and it will become just like the store bought gak!

                                                                  SO MUCH FUN!!!

My kids played with this for well over an hour. Squishing it around, letting it stretch, making funny things......and of course.....the biggest kid of all, used a small tupperware dish to make fart sounds by squishing it into the dish.

This stores nicely in some tupperware.

Also, PLEASE beware.........this will get STUCK in your couch (we had this happen to us a year ago from the store bought kind) and a friend of mine warned me that it will get stuck in hair, so be careful with that as well.

Have fun friends!!
