Summer fun Day 31! Coasters.

Hi friends!! Today was a busy day for us, we had lots of errands, the girls both had some one on one time with their Gma Long, and William had a dental appointment. Which I'm SO thankful that my 2 year old, does such an amazing job at the dentist....and no cavities or problems :)

I wanted to keep our activity pretty low key and quick today, since my kids were in and out of the house all day. I also have been needing some coasters at my little table between the couches, for my coffee and what better way to get them, than to have the kids make them for me!! ;)

It was so simple that I seriously don't even need pics, but it's fun to SEE the kids making everything, so I did take some pictures. :)

We got out some glue, sharpies, and popsicle sticks.

We wanted the coasters big enough for our coffee cups and glasses, so we used ten sticks side by side and then, glued one stick on each side to hold them all together. Flip it over, and you have a homemade coaster!

This made it super easy for the kids to color on with the sharpies.

They made a bunch of pretty decorated coasters, and now I can use a new one every day!

Even though this activity was easy and fast, we all enjoyed it. You don't have to have a crazy, or expensive activity to do with your kids, for it to matter. What matters is the time spent together, and it matters most to kids, so don't be afraid to do a simple, cheap activity. They will have smiles for days!
